In The Empower Network, we as a company are all about Leadership. The Top Empower Network Leaders do not consider us as their Follower’s, to them we are fresh, new Leaders in training. We all know the term ’Follow the Leader’, The Empower Network Leaders do not want you to follow them, they want you to become the Leader.

A while back we wrote a post entitled Leader vs Follower. We decided to do a follow up post, and take a more in depth look into the role of a Leader vs a Follower.

To have the strength of a Leader, you must earn it. Leaders work hard for what they want. All The Empower Network Leaders that speak to us through the Webinars have mastered the art of Leadership. They are successful in their own right. They posses a desire to build a vision and create something new. There skills are shining on through others because they took the time to teach their secrets to us.

A Follower resents people who are superior to them and will admit no wrong doing. A Follower does not take to change very well, won’t go the extra mile, will not take ownership when a mistake is made and always likes to blame other people. All hope is not lost though. A Follower can become a Leader with hard work and determination.

Helen Keller was an American author who changed the world in a very different way. If you are looking for strength then you need to know her story. She overcame both deafness and blindness to become a successful Author and Speaker. Giving other people hope and courage, in a time when people did not understand. Deaf, blind, and mute at a young age, she learned to talk using her hands, taught to her by a kind sole who believed in her. Because of her actions she was able to Lead a world out of darkness and silence, so they could accept people like her.

Martin Luther Ling Jr. is a man who had a dream. A dream that included African Americans and Caucasian individuals living side by side in peace. Now this man was a Leader. He was a Leader in a time when people did not accept his race.. Shunned time and time again he never gave up. Assassinated in 1968, he was not able to see his dream come true, but he left a legacy so big that his believers carried on. 40 years later, people are living his dream. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Leader who changed the world.

David Wood and David Sharpe are Leaders too, Empower Network Leaders trying to fight the forces of evil and give the little guy a break. Helping everyone learn how to gain back their financial freedom. They have given us the opportunity to help others realize their dreams, and reach for the top.

When we speak of setting a goal, we are not talking about sports, we are defining in a business sense of achieving greatness one step at a time with the help of The Empower Network.

Setting a goal is a clear and fathomable end result having one or more purpose to be attained within a fixed time frame.

The Empower Network Leadership | Short Term And Long Term Goal Setting

 The Empower Network Leadership teaches its members that everyone should make and set goals.

Did you know that there are different types of goal setting.  Most of us tend to focus on big, long term goals. This can become a problem because we focus on the wrong thing. There are 3 types of goals;

• short-term or mini goals
• medium-term or intermediate goals
• long-term or milestone goals

Short-term goals – Set goals at a 1 month period or less. Set short- term goals that will gradually lead into a long term goal.

Medium-term goals – Set goals at 3 month intervals. If setting a short-term goal did not work, then maybe you will have to look into making it a medium-term goal. Setting a medium term goal can ultimately lead into a long-term goal as well.

Long- term goals – Are set in a longer period of time, 1-5 years. Set your short-term goals first, which will lead to medium-goal setting, which will lead to your long-term goals and the bigger picture.

Make it a small or large reward, depending on how big your goal was. Take a little time out to enjoy your rewards.

Lead by example. People lead by example in many various way. Simply put, Lead by example is when a person does something that will touch upon their team members to carry on to others. You are teaching how to Lead by your example. Your team members Leader role starts with you.

Everyone has there own way of doing things. There are different Leader styles you can use when you are just starting out. There is no right way or wrong way to Lead by example, but there is always a better way. Share stories with these future Leaders on how you did things and do things.

Don’t create a “do as I say, not as I do” environment. This will make problems within your team. Always follow through with what you say and do. You are in a Leadership role and have a duty to your team members. They look to you for support, guidance, and motivation

If their is no Leadership within the team, your team will eventually fall apart.

Put the pieces together. There needs to be communication among your team members. Remember Lead by example and follow through with what you say and do. If you don’t you are setting your team up for failure.

Lead by example and people will follow you on their way to success because they look up to you as an authoritative figure and because they believe in you. That’s the right way to do things.

If people have a problem offer them a solution, work together,  don’t leave them to fix the problem by themselves. Part of being a leader is giving direction.
